Make Your MARC’s community mural with Foodlink!

A little about Foodlink

“Foodlink is the Feeding America regional food bank, which rescues and redistributes more than 13 million pounds of food annually to a network of 450 member agencies in a 10-county service area: Allegany, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates Counties”.

Foodlink and Make Your MARC feel similarly on the need to improve the lives of our community members, no matter how big or small that community may be. For Foodlink, their vision is “to build a hunger-free community and a sustainable regional food system in which every individual has access to nutritious food and is empowered with the tangible skills to lead a healthy and productive life”. Learn more Here.

Make Your Marc was given the opportunity to partner with community volunteers and SVR (Single Volunteers in Rochester) members, to transform the volunteer entrance space:

Highlights from the project

Community Painting Day 1 – June 14th, 2012, We had nearly 20 participants help us put color on those bare walls! The corner made for an interestingly crowded space. Challenge accepted!

Community Painting Day 2 – June 16th, 2012, More volunteers stopped by and we enjoyed a relaxing, music-filled day dedicated to edging and finishing up painting.
